La Familia Southside Clinic
Santa Fe, New Mexico
La Familia Medical Center is a non-profit organization that provides outpatient medical services to all walks of Santa Fe life. For many, they represent the sole health-care option available. Their operations consist of a centrally located main facility, satellite offices specializing in particular care niches, and the Southside Clinic conveniently located to serve their largest demographic of users.
We were commissioned to design and oversee the construction of a 4,700 sf addition to this facility – completed in 2018. The clinic can now address the needs of its fastest-growing clientele with expanded diagnostic and consultation space, a satellite reception area, and multi-purpose meeting room – open to the public after hours.
This gathering space reflects La Familia’s holistic approach to health care with a ‘Demonstration Kitchen’ intended for pre / post–natal care classes, as well as raising community awareness about the nuances of a healthy diet; where young mothers are taught how to obtain, process, and cook freshly grown local foods.
